Welcome to The Expats Group – Paliano, Piglio, Serrone, Italy (“The Expats Group,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
TheExpatsGroup – Paliano, Piglio, Serrone is a community platform intended to connect Italian citizens, local businesses, expatriates, international residents, prospective residents, and others interested in the communities of Paliano, Piglio, Serrone, and the surrounding Lazio region.
Our purpose is to encourage community connection, cultural exchange, local business support, information sharing, friendship, participation, and positive relationships between international residents and the Italian communities in which they live or hope to live.
By creating an account, requesting membership, submitting information for a directory, participating in the website, or otherwise using the services of TheExpatsGroup – Paliano, Piglio, Serrone, you agree to these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”).
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not create an account or participate in the site.
1. PURPOSE OF THEEXPATSGROUP – PALIANO, PIGLIO, SERRONE
The TheExpatsGroup – Paliano, Piglio, Serrone exists to facilitate positive relationships among three primary communities:

The Expats Group is intended to be a community resource and networking platform.
It is not intended to replace government services, professional advisers, emergency services, legal counsel, tax advisers, immigration professionals, medical professionals, real estate professionals, or other appropriately licensed professionals.
2. ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSHIP
Membership is generally available to individuals who are 18 years of age or older.
Membership may be available to:
Italian citizens
Residents of Paliano
Residents of Piglio
Residents of Serrone
Residents of nearby communities
Expatriates living in Italy
Prospective expatriates
Second-home owners
International retirees
Digital nomads
Remote workers
Dual citizens
Local businesses
Business owners
Professionals
Community organizations
Cultural organizations
Other individuals or organizations with a legitimate interest in the community
The TheExpatsGroup – Paliano, Piglio, Serrone reserves the right to approve, decline, suspend, or terminate membership consistent with these Terms and applicable law.
3. MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES
When joining, members may identify themselves as:
Citizen
A person who lives in, was born in, has family ties to, or otherwise has a meaningful connection to the local community.
Business
A commercial business, professional, artisan, organization, service provider, or other enterprise serving the community.
Expatriate
An international resident, prospective resident, second-home owner, seasonal resident, digital nomad, retiree, dual citizen, or other international member.
Members must select the category that most accurately describes their relationship to the community.
The Expats Group may request clarification where necessary.

Members may be asked to provide information including:

Members are responsible for ensuring that information submitted to TheExpatsGroup – Paliano, Piglio, Serrone is accurate and reasonably current.
Members must not knowingly submit false, misleading, fraudulent, impersonated, or deceptive information.
5. DIRECTORY PARTICIPATION
TheExpatsGroup – Paliano, Piglio, Serrone may maintain separate directories for:

Businesses
Expatriates
Directory participation may be optional.
A member may be permitted to join TheExpatsGroup – Paliano, Piglio, Serrone without having every item of personal information publicly displayed.
Public Directory Information
Members will be given an opportunity to determine which categories of information may be publicly displayed, subject to the technical capabilities of the website.
Particularly for Citizens and Expatriates, personal contact information should be opt-in rather than automatically published.
Members should not publish another person's:

without appropriate permission.
6. MEMBER RESPONSIBILITY FOR INFORMATION
Each member is responsible for information they submit.
By submitting information, the member represents that:
The information is accurate to the best of their knowledge.
They have the right to provide the information.
The information does not knowingly violate another person's rights.
The information does not contain unlawful material.
The information does not intentionally mislead other members.
The information is not submitted for fraudulent purposes.
Business members additionally represent that their business information is accurate and that they have authority to represent the business.
7. MEMBER CONDUCT
Members agree to interact respectfully and constructively.
Members should:
Welcome newcomers.
Respect Italian culture and traditions.
Respect differing opinions.
Help other members.
Share accurate information.
Support local businesses.
Protect other people's privacy.
Participate constructively.
Respect moderators.
Follow applicable Italian and EU law.
Follow applicable platform policies.
Use the community for its intended purposes.
8. PROHIBITED CONDUCT
The following activities are prohibited:
Harassment
Personal attacks, bullying, threats, stalking, intimidation, or harassment.
Hate Speech
Content attacking individuals or groups based on protected characteristics or other unlawful discriminatory conduct.
Fraud
Scams, fraudulent offers, impersonation, deceptive schemes, or intentionally misleading information.
Spam
Repetitive, irrelevant, automated, or excessive promotional content.
Unauthorized Advertising
Repeated commercial promotion outside approved business participation or directory guidelines.
Multi-Level Marketing
Unsolicited MLM recruitment or promotional campaigns.
Cryptocurrency and Investment Schemes
Fraudulent or misleading investment, cryptocurrency, financial, or money-making schemes.
Illegal Activities
Promotion, facilitation, or solicitation of illegal activities.
Misinformation
Knowingly publishing materially false information, particularly where it could reasonably cause harm.
Privacy Violations
Publishing another person's private information without appropriate authorization.
Impersonation
Pretending to be another individual, business, public official, organization, or community representative.
Malicious Technology
Uploading malware, malicious code, viruses, harmful files, or attempting unauthorized access to the website.
Offensive Content
Content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, excessively vulgar, or otherwise inappropriate for a community-oriented platform.
9. POLITICAL AND CONTROVERSIAL CONTENT
The Expats Group is not intended to function as a political advocacy organization.
Members may discuss legitimate community matters, public events, civic issues, or government information in a respectful manner.
However, the following may be removed:
Personal political attacks
Political harassment
Hate-based political content
Repetitive political campaigning
Political spam
Threats
Incitement
Content designed primarily to provoke conflict
Moderators may redirect conversations that have moved away from constructive community discussion.
10. BUSINESS PARTICIPATION
Businesses are encouraged to participate in the community.
Business participation may include:
Business directory listings
Business introductions
Business spotlights
Events
Community sponsorships
Member discounts
Educational presentations
Local recommendations
Interviews
Community partnerships
Being listed in The Expats Group directory does not constitute an endorsement, certification, guarantee, or recommendation by The Expats Group.
11. BUSINESS REVIEWS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Members may share their experiences with local businesses.
Reviews and recommendations must be:
Honest
Based on actual experience
Relevant
Respectful
Free from fabricated claims
Members must not:
Publish knowingly false reviews
Threaten businesses with negative reviews
Accept payment for fabricated reviews
Impersonate customers
Publish confidential business information
Use reviews to harass business owners or employees
The Expats Group may remove reviews that violate these Terms.
12. NO PROFESSIONAL ADVICE
Information shared through The Expats Group is provided for general community and informational purposes.
Nothing on the website should be interpreted as:
Legal advice
Immigration advice
Tax advice
Financial advice
Medical advice
Insurance advice
Real estate advice
Architectural advice
Engineering advice
Construction advice
Investment advice

15. LICENSE TO USE MEMBER CONTENT
By submitting content to TheExpatsGroup – Paliano, Piglio, Serrone, you grant TheExpatsGroup – Paliano, Piglio, Serrone a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, display, format, distribute, and promote that content in connection with operating and promoting TheExpatsGroup – Paliano, Piglio, Serrone.
This may include displaying content on:

Social media
Newsletters
Community publications
Promotional materials
Events
Digital communications

Members should obtain appropriate permission before submitting photographs that identify other individuals, particularly children.

without appropriate authorization.
17. MODERATION
TheExpatsGroup – Paliano, Piglio, Serrone may moderate community content to maintain a safe, respectful, useful, and welcoming environment.
Moderation may include:
Approving membership
Reviewing content
Removing content
Editing content for formatting
Closing discussions
Restricting posting privileges
Suspending accounts
Terminating accounts
Moderation decisions will be made consistent with these Terms and applicable law.

18. REPORTING A PROBLEM

19. SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION

Threatening behavior
Abuse of other members
Spam
Unauthorized access

Where appropriate, the member may be notified of the reason for the action.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights a member may have under mandatory applicable law.
20. MEMBER REQUEST TO LEAVE
Members may request cancellation of their membership at any time by contacting:

Upon cancellation, TheExpatsGroup – Paliano, Piglio, Serrone will handle personal data and directory information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable law.

36. ONLINE PLATFORM TRANSPARENCY
To the extent applicable to TheExpatsGroup – Paliano, Piglio, Serrone based upon its activities, size, and legal classification, the platform will seek to maintain transparent community rules and proportionate content-moderation practices.
